Setting Background Description

The game takes place in a contemporary city zoo, constructed in the 1970s amidst a historical backdrop where wildlife conservation efforts started to gain momentum. The zoo, located near a large metropolitan area, was designed to educate the public on different animal species while also providing a sanctuary for animals in need of rescue. As the years progressed, however, the focus shifted to entertainment rather than education, leading to crowded enclosures and a systemic neglect of the animal inhabitants.

The river otters, Louie and Ophelia, were brought to this zoo after being found in an unregulated pet trade environment. Known for their intelligence and playful nature, the otters quickly became a crowd favorite—but they grew increasingly restless and fed up with their confined existence. Their dark humor reflects their discontent and desire for freedom, set against the bleakness of winter— a season symbolizing both harsh trials and unexpected survival.

Escape Plan Under the Snowy Sky

Louie and Ophelia huddle together in the corner of their frosty enclosure, plotting their grand escape. “Let’s make it more entertaining for us, shall we?” Louie smirks, eyeing the oblivious zookeepers. “How about we create a distraction? Maybe toss some snow at them? Or shall we dye their uniforms pink?” Ophelia rolls her eyes, “Why not lure them with trapped raccoons? They’re the perfect scapegoats!” With a plan starting to form, they weigh their options carefully, balancing mischief with necessity.

Will they keep it simple or spice things up?

The Great Escape Planning

Louie and Ophelia huddled close, their eyes gleaming with mischief as they sketched out the perfect plan to escape their cage. They knew they needed to distract the zookeepers, but how? The winter chill sent shivers down their spines, urging them to act quickly before the opportunity vanished. “Maybe we could rig the penguin exhibit to create a splash?” Ophelia suggested with a smirk. Louie laughed, “Yes! Or we could charm the raccoons into a little evening commotion!” With the zookeepers strolling nearby, time was running out.

Rig the penguin exhibit for a splash distraction.

Planning the Escape

Louie and Ophelia huddled together, plotting their escape over the sound of crackling ice and distant laughter from zoo visitors. “A splash distraction is genius!” Louie exclaimed, wiggling his whiskers in excitement. They decided to rig the penguin exhibit, planning to set off the pool’s waterworks to create chaos. As they slipped away towards the icy penguin waters, the pair whispered their strategic taunts at the fluffy penguins, hardly sensing the lurking zookeeper nearby.

Suddenly, they heard a clang. “That sounded like the gate!” Ophelia hissed, eyes darting. Would they divert attention in time?
